Elegant Affair Boutique is new, but the work and quality has been around for years.
I started sewing in high school and have enjoyed it ever since. As my 25th year class
reunion is coming up this year, that means a lot of years of sewing. My talents have
been put to use on bridesmaid dresses, curtains, tailoring, Halloween costumes and
wedding party alterations. I decided to narrow my focus and do what I love best
which was the challenge of creating beautiful dresses for special occasions,
bridesmaids and weddings. I received the most pleasure out of these
accomplishments and decided that Elegant Affair Boutique would be a combination
of making others dreams come true and my pleasure and satisfaction when the
product is finished and the recipient is thrilled.

		Flower girl dresses, all matching and on 3 very active girls full of personality,
		it was a success.
		Bridesmaid dresses for a bridal party of varying sizes, the bride wanted
		something different, something special, and in a color that was unique for the time. The shimmering green dresses were beautiful.
		A bridal dress for a second wedding, it had to be beautiful, different and
		understated, it was.
		A bridal dress of a bride who was pregnant and having an outdoors wedding.
		The bride loved natural colors and fabrics, so the dress was made of raw silk and lace. It was perfect.
		My own wedding was a destination wedding to Ocho Rios, Jamaica. The
		bridesmaid dress had to be comfortable and lightweight for the heat, but it still had to look semi-formal to at least compliment my dress. The dress was done in my favorite color, which wasn't in fashion at the time (it became so one year later!), and in material that wouldn't make the bridesmaid overheat. The finished item was perfect, and the matching bow-tie for the groom was icing on the cake!

This is just a few of the projects that I have done, the others would create a long list.

It's a tough decision to have a wedding dress or wedding party attire custom
made. There is always the question as to how good of a seamstress is the
person who will be making your gown or party attire. What will the dress look
like in the end, as you will not have tried the dress on like you do in the salons.
These are valid concerns and questions. It is all an issue of trust. Think of it
this way, when you try on a dress in the salon there are always things you
would like changed on the dress, that's what can be changed with a custom
dress. You never really do know how good the seamstress is who sews the
dress for the manufacturer, and if you didn't try on the dress in the color you
wanted, you don't know if the dress you ordered will be perfect either until it
arrives 6 months later. At which time, you then need to pay for alterations,
custom dresses don't have this additional charge. The advantages of custom are
that the clothing is made for you, your measurements, your height, your color.
You see the item as it progresses, if you don't like something you can change it
right away, you choose the amount of beading, the lace or the stitching color.
